- Yoksunluk sendromu
- Yoksunluk sendromu, bir ilaca ya da maddeye olan fizyolojik adaptasyon demektir. İlacın ya da maddenin yokluğunda, şiddetli krizlere neden olabilir. Bir veya birkaç kimyasal maddeye bağlı gelişen tolerans sonucu vücuda yerleşir ve bu maddenin eksikliğinde yoksunluk sendromu ortaya çıkar. Örnek olarak sigara ve eroin verilebilir. Sigaraya tolerans uzun sürede gelişse de eroin gibi olmasa da bırakıldığında ağır yoksunluk sendromu belirtileri izlenir. Bu durum vücutta nikotinik reseptörlerin artışı ve nikotin kesilince bazı fizyolojik sorunlara yol açması sonucu ortaya çıkar. Benzer etkiler eroinde çok daha ağır görülür
