A loganberry is a purplish red fruit that is similar to a raspberry. loganberries a soft dark red fruit like a large raspberry. Bramble plant (Rubus loganobaccus) of the rose family. It originated in Santa Cruz, Calif., in 1881, apparently as a natural hybrid between the wild blackberry of the Pacific coast and the red raspberry. It is grown in large quantities in Oregon and Washington and is cultivated in Britain and Tasmania.
