Higrometre: Higrometre havadaki nemi ölçmek için kullanılan bir araçtır. En basit higrometreler, birisinin haznesi devamlı ıslak tutulan iki termometreden oluşurlar. ıslak olan haznenin etrafındaki sıvının buharlaşması, o termometrenin devamlı daha düşük sıcaklık göstermesini sağlar. Ancak donma noktasının altındaki sıcaklıklarda bu sistem çalışmamaktadır, ıslak termometrenin haznesinin etrafında ince bir buz tabakası oluşur ve işinin doğru olarak gösterilmesini engeller. Bu gibi durumlarda kuru olan termometre daha yüksek sıcaklıklar gösterebilir. Göreli nem oranı, ortamın sıcaklığını gösteren termometrenin ve etrafında buharlaşma sağlanan termometrenin gösterdikleri değerlerin karşılaştırılmasıyla elde edilebilir. ıslak/kuru hazne metodunu kullanan cihazlardan birisi sapan saykrometresidir. Sapan saykrometresinde termometreler bir tutamak ya da ipin ucunda bulunurlar, hesap için gerekli değerler saykrometrenin birkaç dakika boyunca havada çevirilmesiyle elde edilir
