Englisch - Englisch
A thermometer designed to measure high temperatures
An instrument for measuring the thermal expansion of solids
{n} an instrument to measure the expansion of bodies by heat
An instrument used for measuring the expansion of solid bodies by heat
An electronic device used to measure tire temperatures
The pyrometer is a meter that indicates high temperatures In order to work, a pyrometer must have a thermocouple (temperature sensor) connected to it
{i} instrument for measuring very high heats
An instrument for measuring degrees of heat above those indicated by the mercurial thermometer
A device used to measure high temperatures
Instrument for measuring relatively high temperatures, as in furnaces. Most pyrometers work by measuring radiation from the body whose temperature is to be measured (radiation devices have the advantage of not having to touch the material being measured). Optical pyrometers measure the temperature of glowing bodies by comparing them visually with an incandescent filament of known temperature whose temperature can be adjusted. In resistance pyrometers, a fine wire is put in contact with the object; the instrument converts the change in electrical resistance caused by heat to a reading of the temperature of the object
radiation pyrometer
a device that measures the intensity of radiation from, and thus the temperature of, a hot body
optical pyrometer
a pyrometer that uses the color of the light emitted by a hot object
pyrometric
Pertaining to, or obtained by, the pyrometer; as, pyrometrical instruments; pyrometrical measurements
pyrometric
Of, or relating to a pyrometer or pyrometry
pyrometric
pyrometrical
pyrometry
The art of measuring degrees of heat, or the expansion of bodies by heat
pyrometry
The measurement of high temperatures
radiation pyrometer
a pyrometer for estimating the temperature of distant sources of heat; radiation is focussed on a thermojunction connected in circuit with a galvanometer
resistance pyrometer
pyrometer that measures high temperatures by the resistance in a heated wire
