The Peace Corps is an American organization that sends young people to help with projects in developing countries. A federal government organization, set up in 1961, that trains and sends American volunteers abroad to work with people of developing countries on projects for technological, agricultural, and educational improvement. a US government organization that aims to help poorer countries, by sending them volunteers (=people who work without payment) , especially young people, who teach skills in education, health, farming etc. U.S. government agency of volunteers, formed in 1961 by Pres.
