- Multiple Listing Service - a US based service that consolidates listings of homes for sale from all licenced real estate agents. Several MLSs can exist in any given region or area. These MLSs are comprised of cooperating brokers and/or Associations of Realtors. The purpose is for all Realtors of that given area who belong to the included brokerages and/or associations to share their listing information in one database which they can search, compile market reports from, and and submit data to to ensure exposure to all other Realtors and real estate professionals. The MLS system is the #1 reason to hire a Realtor to help sell your home, or help you buy a home.
