a British farmer and inventor, who developed new methods of farming and invented a machine for putting seeds in the ground (1674-1741). born 1674, Basildon, Berkshire, Eng. died Feb. 21, 1741, Prosperous Farm, near Hungerford, Berkshire British agronomist and inventor.
