- orig. Giovanni Coralli Peracini born Jan. 15, 1779, Paris, France died May 1, 1854, Paris French dancer and choreographer. He made his debut at the Paris Opera in 1802. His appointment as ballet master at the Opera (1831-50) coincided with the most brilliant phase of the Romantic ballet. In 1841 Coralli began to work with the ballerina Carlotta Grisi in Giselle, now regarded as a classic.
