الإنجليزية - الإنجليزية
The continuous line or surface including all the points in space reached by a wave or vibration at the same instant as it travels through a medium. Imaginary surface that represents corresponding points of waves vibrating in unison. As identical waves from the same source travel through a homogeneous medium, corresponding crests and troughs are in phase at any instant; that is, they have completed the same fraction of their periodic motion. Any surface drawn through all points of the same phase constitutes a wave front
(physics) an imaginary surface joining all points in space that are reached at the same instant by a wave propagating through a medium
(physics) an imaginary surface joining all points in space that are reached at the same instant by a wave propagating through a medium all the points just reached by a wave as it propagates
all the points just reached by a wave as it propagates
wave which is vertical in the direction that it is moving
wavefront
The continuous line or surface including all the points in space reached by a wave or vibration at the same instant as it travels through a medium
wavefront
The surface defined by the locus of points that have the same phase, i e , have the same path length from the source [After 2196]  Note 1:   The wavefront is perpendicular to the ray that represents an electromagnetic wave   Note 2:   The plane in which the electric and magnetic field vectors lie is tangential to the wavefront at every point   Note 3:   The vector that represents the wavefront indicates the direction of propagation   Note 4:   For parallel, i e , collimated, rays, the wavefront is plane   For rays diverging from a point, or converging toward a point, the wavefront is spherical   For rays with varying divergence or convergence, the wavefront has other shapes, such as ellipsoidal and paraboloidal, depending on the nature of the source
wavefront
Three dimensional surface in space for which the field radiated by an antenna has the same phase at all points At a large distance R from an antenna, the wavefront is a spherical surface with radius R over the angular window established by the antenna pattern For most geometries encountered in remote sensing, the wavefront may be approximated by a plane tangent to the spherical surface, within a tolerance of much less than a wavelength over a spatial scale of several resolution cells
wavefront
An imaginary surface passing through points of a medium oscillating in phase
wavefront

The initial disturbance in a propagating wave
wavefront
A surface connecting all field points (of electromagnetic energy) that are equidistant from the source
