Clemens played for the Boston Red Sox (1984-96), Toronto Blue Jays (1997-1998), New York Yankees (1999-2003), and Houston Astros (from 2004). In 1986 he became the first pitcher to strike out 20 batters in a single (nine-inning) game; he later tied his own record (1996).
