A river rising in northeast New Mexico and flowing about 1,223 km (760 mi) generally southeast to the Canadian River in eastern Oklahoma. River, central Oklahoma, U.S. Formed by the junction of Beaver River and Wolf Creek, it is 440 mi (708 km) long and rises in a high plateau in New Mexico. It flows east through the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles past Oklahoma City, joining the Canadian River in the Eufaula Reservoir
