International Security Assistance Force (10) (ISAF) is the name of a NATO-led security and development mission in Afghanistan which was established by the United Nations Security Council on 20 December 2001 and consists of about 35,500 personnel as of 31 May 2007. Thirty-seven different nations have contributed troops to this military force, including contributions from North America, Europe and Australia
