- {i} test discovered by Bela Schick to test susceptibility to diphtheria in which an injection of nontoxic diphtheria is given under the skin to determine whether a patient is immune to diphtheria (if red patch appears on the skin at the point of injection, it indicates no immunity)
- A test to determine immunity to diphtheria by injection into the skin of dilute diphtheria toxin. Inflammation of the injected area indicates a lack of immunity
