To use a silkscreen to apply an image
A sheet of material (originally silk but now synthetic) with areas that are porous to ink and others that are non-porous to allow printing of images, such as on T-shirts
A general term used to describe the screen processed images for commerce and industry In order to distinguish fine art prints from the purely commercial work, a new term was later coined and fine art silkscreen prints became known as serigraphs
A method of printing using a hand-cut or photographically-prepared stencil adhered to stretched silk or polyester fabric through which ink is forced (see Serigraph)
Ink is pressed thru a fine screen leaving a flat, painted imprint on the surface of the material
Printing term for the flat color process where vibrant colors are required
{i} printing technique in which ink is pressed through a fine mesh fabric on which a stencil design has been painted with an impermeable substance, silkscreen process; print made using the silkscreen technique
the name given to the "component identification" ink layer screened onto a printed circuit board Also the name given to the lettering screened on the front and back of a guitar amp control panel
or serigraphy Sophisticated stenciling technique for surface printing, in which a design is cut out of paper or another thin, strong material and then printed by rubbing, rolling, or spraying paint or ink through the cutout areas. It was developed 1900 and originally used in advertising and display work. In the 1950s fine artists began to use the process. It got its name from the fine-mesh silk that, when tacked to a wooden frame, serves as a support for the cut-paper stencil, which is glued to it. To make a silkscreen print, the wooden frame holding the screen is hinged to a slightly larger wooden board, the printing paper is placed on the board under the screen, and the paint is pressed through the screen with a squeegee (rubber blade) the same width as the screen. Many colours can be used, with a separate screen for each colour
(Also called "silkscreen legend") 1 The decals and reference designators in epoxy ink on a printed wiring board, so called because of the method of applicationthe ink is "squeegeed" through a silk screen, the same technique used in the printing of T-shirts
A printmaking technique in which a mesh cloth is stretched over a heavy wooden frame and the design, printed on the screen by tusche or affixed by stencil, is printed by having a squeegee force color through the poors of the material in areas not blocked out by a glue sizing
{f} create prints using the silkscreen process
a print made using a stencil process in which an image or design is superimposed on a very fine mesh screen and printing ink is squeegeed onto the printing surface through the area of the screen that is not covered by the stencil print by silkscreen

> A printing process using stencils to block out areas which are then printed through silk, other fabric or metal mesh Also called Screenprint
