Definition of falsificationism in English English dictionary
A scientific philosophy popularised by Karl Popper, based on the requirement that hypotheses must be falsifiable in order to be scientific; if a claim is not able to be refuted it is not a scientific claim
An invalid scientific philosophy in which any single instance of refuting data is enough to falsify the entire claim
Under naive falsificationism, the birth control pill would be considered as ineffective since there are instances (3 in 1000) in which it does not work.
